ZENE High Performance RC vs. Standard Power Functions
Side-by-Side Comparison
| Feature | Standard Power Functions / Powered Up | ZENE High Performance RC |
|---|---|---|
| Motor | Brushed DC motor, ~1–2W, plastic gears | 500W brushless motor, 3600KV, up to 50,000 RPM, with a metal planetary gearbox for torque |
| Power source | AA/AAA battery box (9V) or rechargeable hub | 3S LiPo battery (max ~13.2V, up to 38A) with charger + voltage monitor |
| Drivetrain | LEGO plastic gears / differentials | Custom-forged metal differentials, alloy gears, metal shafts, aluminum U-joints, bearing axles |
| Control | IR remote (line-of-sight, short range) or Bluetooth app | Pro RC remote: 350–600 m range, ~100 ms latency, precision steering with an RC-level servo |
| Speed | Walking pace, roughly 2–5 km/h at best | Bursts over 50–60 km/h, sustained ~40 km/h |
| Durability | Plastic gears can strip under load | Alloy drivetrain, wear rates under 0.1%, structure stable at top speed |
