This kit treats the balloon as the main feature and places the light inside it, so the whole pot glows from within.

The cables run inside the hollow form and out at the rear, invisible from the front. The glow is warm and even, soft enough to keep on beside a bed without glaring, and the battery box hides inside or just behind the pot. It fits a built model with only a little refitting.

The effect is closer to a small lantern than a plant with a light on it. On a bedside table or a shelf, the flowerpot becomes the warmest thing in the room, and the flowers still get their own lift from the same source.

AFOLs who bought the set for the vase shape will appreciate that the light does not fight it. The pot stays the star, just brighter.

LEGO fans who wanted the vase to stay the star will be glad it does.
